*Note - students who are recommended for Level 4A beginning at the 25/26 School Session will have the opportunity to audition for Company on September 13, 2025 (same day as Nutcracker Auditions)

AUDITION REGISTRATION

All auditioning dancers must complete a registration form online at bayareayouthballet.org by 5.18.25
There is no audition fee for actively enrolled (24/25 School Session)
There is a $30 audition registration fee for students not currently active, who intend to register for the 25/26 School Session

Summer Training Requirements

Company dancers are required to complete 3 training credits at BABC each summer. 1 Week of BABC's Summer Intensive = 1 Credit. 3 Days of BABC's Summer Session = 1 Credit. If dancer is attending an approved outside intensive, requirement is reduced to 2 Credits. This requirement is in all company agreements, including this past years agreeement (24/25 Season).

The Ballet Alliance

The Ballet Alliance Festival 2026 is required of Soloist Company, STRONGLY recommended for Demi-Soloist Company, Recommended for Corps de Ballet Company and by invite only for Apprentice Company. To be considered for Soloist Company, you must commit to attending The Ballet Alliance Festival 2026 at the time of audition, with $100 trip deposit due June 1. Festival 2026 will be held in Reno, NV. Company will depart for Reno either Monday, April 5th in the evening/afterschool or early morning of Tuesday, April 7. Dancers return home Saturday, April 11th. BABC will be coordinating its school Spring Break with this week. Please note your commitment to Festival 2026. Reminder - this is required for Soloist Company, with commitment due at time of the audition. A small amount of financial aid may be available to families that need support in attending.

Emerging Choreographers

Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are eligible to submit their choreography to be considered to be performed at The Ballet Alliance. BAYB is permitted to select 3 pieces for consideration. TBA's Festival Artistic Directors will select 1 of the 3 pieces. Some foundational education is needed to get started. Thus, we will be requiring any hopeful Emerging Choreographers to attend TBA's Summer Choreographer Workshop, which is virtual and offered in three different sessions, OR at least one week of BABC's Summer Intensive which will be offering Composition classes. Please indicate if your dancer is interested in this opportunity - and we will connect with your dancer to help them learn more about the process.
